Founder, Empowered Results with KAT
Tell us about you! (who you are and what you do)
As a dynamic and practical certified professional coach focused on career transitions and leadership development, I empower mid-career professionals feeling at a crossroads about what’s next in their work lives to make choices to make a change. Together, we uncover their “Why,” “What” and “How” and create a roadmap forward so they can experience greater career fulfillment. Having spent 30 years in diverse and fast-paced corporate environments across many industries and geographies, I know all too well the challenges and doubts – as well as the powerful results and satisfaction! – that can come with making wise career choices. In 2018, I founded Empowered Results with KAT after an accomplished Talent Management / Learning & Development career spent successfully developing C-Suite leaders and others in the Financial Services, Professional Services and Higher Education industries. I have attained two professional coaching certifications to answer an inner-calling to actively help other professionals pursue their own lifelong career and personal journeys. What separates my services from other transition coaches is that I’ve lived this transition personally several times and because of this, my clients feel empowered to approach their next move with energy, confidence and enjoyment.
What would your clients say about you and your business?
My clients appreciate that I listen to them, really get to know their challenges and their goals, and then we target their coaching sessions appropriately. They like that it’s not a “cookie-cutter” / one-size-fits-all approach. They tell me that they like my direct, no BS approach and that I’m not afraid to push back on them about assumptions they may make about their situations. Clients have also conveyed their satisfaction around my availability to address their needs in-between sessions.
What is something few people know about you?
I’m a fairly open book so there’s not a lot; though one thing that surprises people about me is that I’m an extreme introvert by nature.
What advice would you give to new entrepreneurs?
Create a business plan and be clear on your target market and niche. Network often and listen more than you talk. Learn as much as you can, as often as you can. Hire assistance (coaches, designers, virtual assistants.) Allow yourself permission to fail. Give yourself grace.
What is your go-to app or tool to use in your business?
Where would you like to be in your career in five years?
Diversified with a solid mix of both individual career transition clients and corporate leadership development clients.
